Time passes by?lighting fast. ?So Q4 is over and so as my position as primary flash engineer. ?Will be working more as a director from this quarter. ?Of-course will be keeping track of flash and web technology as always and will continue to work on my personal projects.
And the exciting E3 is over. ?Splinter Cell Conviction has gained my attention, I think I’m gonna go for it. ?NATAL and PlayStation stick w/ a ping-pong ball on the top doesn’t excite me at all.
Ever since I built this computer I threw in 4gigs of memory not knowing Windows XP x86 are only capable of handling 3.2GB of memory. So those left over memory has been sitting there unused.
I was looking for a way to use it and found this using google. ?I can’t read chinese so here is the Japanese translation.
Basically this driver will turn additional memory space into a ram-drive.
Its a ram drive so it can only store ?datas?temporarily?but very useful for photoshop and illustrator caches. ?So throwing extra on-board memory can be useful. ?Since any kind of driver has a compatibility issue, make sure to check out the user reports.

I finally decided to buy CS4 Production Premium.? Purchased download version and began my installation process (BTW, CS3 un-installation took 30minutes approx).? For some goddamn reason, installation failed.? Yes installer crashed.? When I try to resume installation, now it gives me “準備中”, meaning in preparation and does nothing at all.
Finally got my package today!? Seems like someone has been occupying all of the delivery boxes.? Maybe I should send it to nearby convenience store which is a minute away.
Just swapped old keyboard with new smaller Apple Keyboard.? First impression was not bad at all.? You basically get the same ol’ feel:? Its an Apple Product.
It works like a charm with Windows + AppleK.
Met with O@D tonight at Yurakucho.? Its been a year since we last met.? Had an excellent talk with him.? Still remember when we worked together to launch that damn website.? Right after we uploaded those files we were on the floor, dead sleep.

Gathering some information about CS4.? So Premier Pro CS4 supports Nvidia’s GPU acceleration.? What about ATI!?? Seems ATI is not in the game sigh.
The encode process using the Elemental RapiHD encoder on the NVIDIA Quadro CX took just under four minutes to complete while using the CPU-based Adobe encoder the process took nearly eight full minutes.? The GPU-accelerated encoder has essentially cut the rendering time in half.
Just for a reference, with my PC (Core 2 Duo E6600) its gonna take 5,6 hours to render 2hours of HD video.? But since my PS3 is sitting here not being played for months, maybe I’ll use CodecSys CE-10 to do the job.

.? The vid was taken with 5D Mark II DSLR.? But then I noticed Adobe Premier Pro 7.0 couldn’t handle Full HD source, switched down to SD resolution and encoded with MediaCoder to MP4.
So I was considering to update CS3 to Web Premium CS4 but maybe Production Premium suites me better.? Besides, I use Aptana instead of Dreamweaver anyways and Acrobat is annoying as hell since it keeps updating crazy whenever I launch CS related software.? Plus I could finally let go my AfterEffects6.
Only problem could be not having Fireworks.? But I know I won’t be using it…I mean I can’t find its use.? Why not Photoshop?

CS3 doesn’t support Camera Raw for 5DMII…Ugh sux.
As far as I know, many Japanese creative company is not rewarding their employee enough.? Animators probably have the worst working environment.? Its just amazing how they can make their livings.? Bottom line, they have livelihood protection but depending on that is wrong.
I bet they also have loads of unpaid overtime just like anyone working in creative fields. Its hard to believe why animators are treated like shit while animation is accepted as one of mainstream business in Japan.
So question is who is actually making money?? Ad agency?
Inspired by Neave.? Back then when I worked on Axe News, Kampei at Bascule gave me a sample of glitch effect that used displacement filter instead.? This one doesn’t but used copypixel to obtain the similar effect.? Will be doing some comparison between two.
