Preparation for the Solar Eclipse

batteryAs many of you probably already know, there is going to be an solar eclipse on July 22 in Japan, China and the Marshall islands.

In Tokyo, we will be able to see?partial eclipse upto?75%. ?So I’m gonna take a day off to shoot some photos.

I know there will be tons of people taking photos and vids of the eclipse itself but the coolest thing of eclipse will be the ?shades.

Light Drawings

we_love_typoLight drawings with DSLR. Photo was taken long ago and finally got my hands on it. It was my first trial so I know it didn’t come out exactly as expected but was a good practice.

I used standard issue flashlight but I would recommend small LED key-chains. ?Should have an accessible push button so you can turn it on/off easily.

Here is the PSD file containing alphabets only.

To CS4 or not to CS4

I’ve updated the index.? Just having fun with it.? Sorry might lock up slow PCs :( .? The vid was taken with 5D Mark II DSLR.? But then I noticed Adobe Premier Pro 7.0 couldn’t handle Full HD source, switched down to SD resolution and encoded with MediaCoder to MP4.

So I was considering to update CS3 to Web Premium CS4 but maybe Production Premium suites me better.? Besides, I use Aptana instead of Dreamweaver anyways and Acrobat is annoying as hell since it keeps updating crazy whenever I launch CS related software.? Plus I could finally let go my AfterEffects6.

Only problem could be not having Fireworks.? But I know I won’t be using it…I mean I can’t find its use.? Why not Photoshop?

[update]
CS3 doesn’t support Camera Raw for 5DMII…Ugh sux.

Focus

Focusing Screen Eg-S

Since I’vd?used Nikon F2, I really miss split focus circle.? Yep, I luv manual so I’ve changed 5DM2′s screen to Super Precision Matte.

The downside is that finder becomes darker. ? I always use lenses thats faster than f/2.8 so no problemo.?? Finder is sharp and crisp,?and?much much easier to find the point.

Recommended for those who love manual photography.
